In the play she is a girl but in those times only men were allowed to be actors, so I guess when it was first performed it was a man. Kinda weird huh?

Juliet the character in "Romeo and Juliet" is, of course, a girl. Romeo is her star-crossed lover. At the time the play was first dramatized, all parts were performed by male actors, so the part of Juliet was usually played by a young man. In every contemporary version of the play I've ever seen, the part was played by an actress. But the character is female.

if u r talking about Romeo & Juliet by shakespeare(sp?), then Juliet is a girl. But even if you weren't, you should know that Juliet is a GIRL'S name.
