This question is confusing. It is posted under business and finance. That is a clue. "Letter" could be as in alphabet or as in correspondence. In editing, the place would be directly above the sentence where the letter is missing. In correspondence, the place would be to file a missing letter note in the file where the letter is missing and then inquire with the post office or FEDEX or UPS if the letter was tracked. E-mail letters that are deleted might be found in your "trash" files. If you have deleted your trash file, try this website. There are ways to retrieve deleted trash:
