A kilo of lead weighs the same as a kilo of polystyrene, the difference would be the space they would take up.You could hold 1kg of lead in your hand but 1kg of polystyrene would fill the back of a pick-up truck.
Strictly speaking the kilo is a unit of mass, not weight.
1 kilogram weighs approx 10 newtons.(on earth)
'' '' '' '' 2 newtons (on the moon)
'' '' '' '' 26 newtons ( on Jupiter)
So 1kg elephant has the same weight as 1 kg turkey.
By the way david f.. and speyman..a flying turkey weighs the same as when it is not flying.

The question is not as stupid as it could be thought at first sight!
The theorical weight is the same. However, if we weight, in the Earth, with a balance, what is a theoretical kilo of elephant and what is a theoretical kilo of turkey, we will see that the meat which has more density displaces more air, and consequently, would incline the balance. The meat with less density displaces less air, and, consequently, doesn't experience the same "push" upwards, surprisingly giving the actual result of weighting less!
This is what the Principle of Arquimedes states.

People can smoke elephants and turkeys? Depends on how much of the elephant kilo or turkey kilo you smoked since the time you copped it. JUST KIDDING! 1 kilogram = 1 kilogram.
