name a country or a province that i would have to fly into to get there. have you ever been to the south pole or the north pole. im just curious im not going there.

Most Americans go via South America, but you can also access the south pole from Australia.

Go to Tierra del Fuego, Argentina and take a boat trip SOUTH.
There are numerous companies that will take you close enough to see Penguins. It's a rare treat to claim you have seen all 7 species of Penguins. (or 10 or 12 species, I don't know, but there is a small number on earth)
PS. there are NO polar bears at the south pole.

I went to the South Pole in 1973. I was working at McMurdo and a pilot gave me and my two friends a ride on a supply flight. If you've got plenty of money, travel down to Punta Arenas in the south of Chile. Catch a flight to Patriot Hills resort in Antarctica. They run tourist flights to the Pole from there. There's now a road to the Pole from McMurdo, and they take heavy freight down in trucks. But it takes about 16 days to get down there and 11 days to get back. If you just want to visit the Antarctic continent, go to Chile or Argentina. Their navies sometimes take paying tourists on their supply trips to their scientific bases in the Antarctic Peninsula. Apart from getting a job down there, it's the only reasonably cheap way to go. All the tourist cruises are very expensive.
