We have been having a celibate relationship for a few weeks now and I want him to be as committed as I am to religious path we have choosen.

P.S We have been together for a while and previously had a very vigorous sex life.

I can't imagine why you are complaining about your boyfriends erection at the slightest touch, considering ,as you say ,you had a very vigarous sex life up until a few weeks ago.
Gosh, the fellas only human, and it's going to be harder for him to keep to a pledge of celabacy than you.
Is celebacy absolutely necessary to continue with your chosen religion, because at the end of the day you might loose the man you love through it, the Lord will love you just the same, after all, he made man and woman to join together,so he see's no wrong in sexual union.
I would really think hard and long as to whether you have chosen the right religion for you and your boyfriend, if you haven't your relationship is definitely doomed, sex is a very strong urge in us all normally.
Good luck, and do try and see how difficult your b/f might be finding your decision ,whether at the time it was a mutual one or not.

your celibacy is your decision, but if a bit hard on your bf that you had a good sex life b4 and now he's having to go without, and you lay your head on his lap and you don't understand why he has a reaction to that ? I'd say you bf is a normal guy with normal feelings, either get married double quick or stop cuddling up on the sofa, so the guy not having temptation put in front of him.
It sound more like your torturing him for his past mistake's ?

What ever path you have chosen, it was a right decision to go celibate. However what ever decision that you both have taken or intend to take must be from a strong personal conviction and revelation.

If you both have the same level of committment to a common cause, then its not difficult to practice celibacy.

...above all make sure that you do not offend yourself by doing what you are convinced to be wrong, always be true to yourself and to Christ and He can suprise you beyond your imagination. good luck and God bless

If your boyfriend is used to an active sex, and then to go on to have nothing at all must be difficult and unfortunately this is a reaction i think most men can not con troll. Their has to be a little give and take from both parties. He is respecting your decision to stay celibate and obviously loves you very much to go along with you.
Have so patients.

Girl, I'm having the same problem. I have been with my boyfriend since June, so our relationship is not that old, when we started going out, we had sex several time but, i was always hesitant because i had started to get to know Christ. So when i made the decision to go celibate i talked to him about and made him aware of what "we" were going into and he was fine with it.

However, not long after we took our decision he started getting really hard without me even touching him, then we would play for a bit but then it always led up having sex which i wasn't going to do. So every time he got really hard and tried to get me going, i would ask myself the following questions:

Why do i want to invite Christ into my life now?
Where will the relationship with my boyfriend lead me
How will i feel once we have had sex and what message have i given to my boyfriend about discipline?

One of my problems were that my boyfriend was not a practicing Christian and it was not only difficult for him to understand why sex should be practiced in our relationship but it also hard for him to understand why it was happening now and with him.

So i openly prayed for Christ to change his life and took him to relationship seminars where other men like him were in celibate relationships. After a while he cooled off but, he would always blame the reasons why he got angry was due to the lack of sex.

We are still together but i find the closer i get to Christ, the further away i get from him.

So you need to really search your heart and ask your self is time for Christ and only Christ (he is a jealous God) or are you going to try squeeze the two together? Which one is more important to you?

Great for building sexual expectations but you do not need each other for the chosen religious path; God becomes your only companion and the path can only be pursued on a personal and solitary level.

It may seem hard (no pun intended) but if, for genuine religious reasons, you wish to remain celibate you may have to consider living apart.
If you have both chosen that path, why not arrange your wedding soon?

i am not aware celibacy is a religion but if it is, one thing is for sure; you boyfriend is not converted.
perhaps you should check your long term goals for this relationship.
