Its 1/2 of the season games lost and 1/2 of the season games won. So it doenst represent a winning season or a losing season.

It's a .500 season, neither winning nor losing.

One .500 team will go to the playoffs this year, and many winning teams will be forced to stay home. The NFC is weak, but there's still some very good teams on it (like New Orleans Saints)

I think it's more acceptable to play @.500 than to lose more than you win,but you could not call it a winning season !

it depends on the team. if the Patriots go 8-8, then its a losing season, BUT if the 49ers go 8-8 its a winning season.

if you are the giants, it means the PLAYOFFS BABY, so not necessarily a bad season.
