Basically, I have heard it is not good to be too clean to build up an immunity to germs. At the same time I want to be clean enough.

So how often?

I keep clorox wipes in the bathroom. I wipe down every day.

I do the shower/tub on Saturdays.

Toilet Saturday & Wednesday.

Vacuum, sweep, & dust daily.

There are enough germs in the world for you to build up an immunity.

No need to be a slob for the sake of health.

When you say "sanitize" I'm wondering what you mean exactly. I usually clean the tub with cleanser after each use--on the weekends I give it a really good scrub with the Comet, Ajax or any other abrasive cleanser. The sink I scrub down weekly too. But, clean it as needed in between times.
We've gotten so germ conscious that we do sometimes go overkill on the disinfectants.
Probably the most notorious are the antibacterial dish detergents and hand scrubs. These really aren't necessary. My parents and grandparents didn't have them and we didn't die of salmonella or E. coli.
The danger presents itself when we destroy our own natural flora (friendly bacteria) that helps to protect us.
Good old fashioned bleach is all we really need for cleaning. That's what we use in the hospitals.

I wipe down the toilet and the sink everyday because I have small kids and I use a bleach type cleaner 1 once a week The sink I just wipe down with paper towel and and something called Method) it is enviormentaly friendly and non toxic. The toilet I use the flush able things that they make now I think Clorox makes them it takes 2 Min's and then I just wipe it down with the Method stuff. Sweep and mop the floor 1 once a week you should be fine. I have tile in my shower so I use a bleach type cleaner once a week to make sure that no mold grows in there. (Clorox clean up works great) also Clorox makes an Any surface wipe now you could use that too. Good luck.

I try to clean about once a week, but agree about not being TOO clean. I once heard that the toliot is actually cleaner than the kitchen sink! Because people are more likely to clean the toliot than the sink. I would just clean it once a week. If I forget or don't have time I think it's okay to wait for another week. Hasn't killed me yet! :)

depends on the environment and how often you use.

In my bathroom there is not enough ventilation so I would like to clean at least once a week..(this is where bacteria builds up) and plus I do share the bathroom and my roomate and I have conflicting schedules so the bathroom seems to always be at use except during 12pm - 5pm.
