That depends on whether you signed the citation or not. If you signed the citation a bench warrant could be issued for your arrest. If you did not sign the citation a summons could be issued.

You should call the court that has jurisdiction over your case to find out when your court date is.

You should call the courts to find out the information on your citation.

If you don't appear there will be a warrant for your arrest that is issued by the judge. You could be released on bail or go to jail., depends on what mood the judge is in.

If you don't appear the judge will place a warrant out for your arrest, you will also be given a $5,000 bond that u have to post before being released from incarceration (in most cases) just call your local court system up and they should have your citation on file..

Since you already know the date, I suggest calling the police agency who issued the citation who should know the court house where their cases are filed (and who may have a copy of your citation). A failure to appear will most likely result in a warrant being issued for your arrest, and may constitute a new crime depending upon the jurisdiction.

Just appear in traffic court the date on the citation (or call, give your name and DL# to get it) Then show up, Don't under ANY circumstances NOT show up. Then plead NOT guilty. ALWAYS make them prove your guilt in court.. it is your right. Most of the administrative and equipment violations were created for revenue... make them work for it.

I would say call the court and ask them when and at what time your court date. The clerk should be able to give you that information.

They will have a copy of your citation there.

If you don't appear, you could be subject to fines or jail time. Don't risk it.

Depending on what the charges are for, you could be at risk of being noted in default, having a judgment against you, or having a bench warrant for your arrest.

Just go to the Court and wait all day if you have to. I work in law, and it is important you go to avoid the consequences.

Good luck!
