I want to obtain software for forcing users of my .mde database files to activate via the eb or phone. A .mde file is a Microsoft Access File which has been protected against code and design changes. Does anyone know of any copy protection/serial number software which I can use to force users to activate the database before they can use it ?

If you assign a user name and password to each database, then the users need to know that user name and password in order to operate it -- information you could require them to contact you for.

You can also use modules to read a registry key which would be installed with an installer and read by the DB every time it starts as an authentication method, to prevent people from simply copying the same DB to other PCs. That's fairly advanced, however.

You can also try using this program: Install Creator Pro
It has an option to force a person to activate the program before installing. The only problem with setting a username and password for your db is that there are ways to reset it. So if the person really wanted to use it they could reset the db.
