I'm sure your wife is very scared about not having an income coming into the house for a couple of months. If I were you I would wait a couple of months before quiting your job and SAVE SAVE SAVE!! You could also start out by working on weekends doing your own business so that you are getting clientle before you just up and quit! You have to think about what you will do if the business doesn't take off like you want it to. Try seeing it from her eyes. Good luck!

That could be extremely difficult. She's probably afraid she can't earn enough to support you. If you have children it makes it even harder. Going without the kind of money you must bring in is alot to ask. Why not start up slowly part time? It usually takes longer than two months to get a new company off the ground. Sometimes they never do get off the ground. I hope you have a really good plan and aren't just flying by the seat of your pants. You could also try to save some money(enough to get you through a few months) before you do this.

ask her for help to come up with a plan to open your own business. if you save up and plan it out it may go over better than just saying hay hon I wanna quit my job. Plus there is a lot that you can get done before you need to quit. You can be starting on all the plans and get your ducks in a row and do a lot while you are still working and then you won't have to go as long without money coming in.

It's difficult. I know. My husband and I are both self employed and it works for us, but very scary in the beginning. When my husband came to me with it I wanted him to show me more than an idea. I wanted to see how serious he was and how it would work. How we would live in the that time in between and how he planned on getting jobs. I asked that he start part time on the weekends and evenings to show me he was serious and could make a go at at. Once he established himself, the rest fell into place. It was hard in the beginning but well worth it now.

you know my dad actually quit his job to stay home and spend time with his family ,but i think it was a dumb thing that he did. but in the other hand he too wants to open his own business. I think you should talk to you wife and let her know that even thou you are not working you will still do your best to support the family and you aren't going to let her down. But make sure you mean it cuz if you dont then "te fregas"

You need to lay out a plan on how you will build your business . You may have to take a side job to bring in the income needed to suuport your home.

It isn't that she doesn't support you, You need to address her fears and re assure her that this is best you and her

You need to make sure that things will be taken care of during that time. If your wife supports you then you sit down together and work out a plan in order to get your business going. I know that if my husband wanted to do that then i'd work two jobs if necessary until he got off his feet.

If you were my man, you would work at your job until you had your business up and running. Only then would you be allowed to quit.

I'm no man's sugar mama!
