I have had migraines for over 20 years now and the only thing I know of that takes them away is taking my medication at the first sign of the aura. If I don't take it right away, I'm in trouble... for hours and sometimes days. Then I end up in the emergency room with injections for the pain.
There are some great sites on the Internet about migraines. There are lots of tricks and a journal to help you find what in your diet might influence the migraines. Red wine, cabbage, too many onions and too much chocolate are a no-no... And if you get migraines, you should not be on the pill.... that's just playing russian roulette. Not with the migraines, but with your life.
See your doctor. Ask for a referral. And check out the world wide web...
God bless...

Take exedrin, this is the ONLY medication that works for me when I have a migraine. Lay down in a quiet room where you won't be bothered, and put a cold wash cloth or something cold on your forehead or around your neck. They also make masks that you can put in the freezer/fridge and you put it on when you get a migraine. I have one and it works wonders! Make sure you drink plenty of fluids, preferably water. :)

Unless you have a prescription or go to the ER and get a shot of Demerol I dont know; nothing has worked for me.
Things I have tried (might work for you- everyone is different)
Caffeine, bio-feedback, cold packs on back of neck,
I am sensitive to light and odor when I get them. Laying face down in a dark room is helpful.
They suck I know! Good luck

Headache is a pain in the head, scalp or neck. Headaches can be
caused by minor problems like eyestrain, lack of coffee or more
serious reasons like head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis and
meningitis. Taking painkillers continuously can have harmful side
effects, so it is better to modify your lifestyle. More information

I use Advil and Tylenol together one of each and put rice in a sock, tie it up, and warm it in the microwave for about 1-1.5 minutes. Then put it across your eyes and lay down in a dark quite room and try to rest. It should ease the pressure in your head. The warm sock expands the blood vessels in your head and will ease the pain. I hope that this helps.
