They're too different to be able to compare. Rooney is a physical player who goes after every ball and can switch around while on the field to any position: defense, midfield, or attack.
Ronaldo is a skills-based player who uses his speed and is extremely effective in counter attacks.
Personally, I like the combination of those 2 working together because they complement each other so well and fill in each other's gaps.

Cristiano Ronaldo has better skill with the ball and Rooney has better skill scoring. I would say Cristiano Ronaldo is better.

As much as I hate Portugal and Ronaldo Im going to have to say that Cristiano Ronaldo is way better player no matter what when ever he's on he makes a difference.

Ronaldo scored winning goal during penalty kick off.
To compare speed, Ronalda is faster than Rooney
To compare skill, Ronaldo play tricky well.
To compare free kick, Ronaldo can score beautiful goal through free kick but not Rooney.
To compare corner kick, Ronaldo is always the corner player but not Rooney.
To compare emotion, Rooney always shout and complaint!
So, if you are coach, who do you want to select? Rooney or Ronaldo?

Rooney just has the power

rooney is more physical and powerful, and ronaldo is more skilled.
both players are fast and quick.
But i think ronaldo can really change the flow of a game, so he is better, in my opinion. And he creates a lot of goal chances.

Well both have been really good lately but my vote goes for Cristiano Ronaldo just because he's changed a lot and he's actually passing more often, Plus he's sooo Hott!!
