Superstitious folks will be say no later than 12/31 because you should not have 2 trees in 1 year (i.e. bad luck)
I think the first week is sufficient. Just ensure you have a tree bag. Its becoming more and more of the law that the Waste Management departments (around the country) will only dispose if they are in a bag.
You can get the bags from dollar stores, or your local grocery store.

It really just depends on the owner and if the tree is real or fake. When a tree is real it is best to take the tree down before it gets too dry as it can pose a fire hazard. As for if the tree is fake or in decent condition then I suppose whenever you want to take it down I know a lot of people who take it down usually a week after Christmas or the day after New Years.

Some say to have it down by New Years Day or it's supposed to be a bad omen. Others take it down Christmas night and some take it down the day after. I think it just depends on when you want it down.

After Christmas Day, or you take it down after New Year, or before the New Year's Eve.

It is bad luck to take down your tree and decorations before New Years. Take it down any time in Janurary!

I always take it down right after the new year sometimes even before so we have more room for the party!
