A hamster can range from anywhere to 5$-12$. Now don't be fooled that the hamster is soooo cheap because if you get a bigger hamster, you will need a bigger cage that can cost more. A cage can range from 20$-35$. My cage cost 30$ for an average sized rident. A bad of dry food is about 5$-8$ and lasts about 2 months. I recomend the kaytee brand. Treats can be more expensive though. I small bag of treats can be 3$-5$. Bedding can also cost a lot. I recomend buying the higher quality brand since they hold oders and bacteria better making sure your hammy doesn't get sick. a large bag of bedding can be 18$ and the last depends on the size of your cage. If your looking for a cheaper way to give your hammy some treats is you can take a small cracker and put some pb and cheerios on it. Also, you can give a hamster oatmeal and little hard boil egg. Create some cool tradtions with your hammy and every sunday give your hammy some warm oatmeal, milk and egg. Now I recomend you give fresh food the spoils easier the day you useally clean the cage. They generally cost between $6-$20, depending on the breed. May sister got a siberian short haired hammy and it costed $9 @ petco. i got a cambell dwarf hamham and it was $12

Don't forget about the cost of the cage, food, treats, and toys (tunnels and chew things) too. The cost of the hamster is cheap, but you still will have to buy food and bedding for a couple of years until it dies.
