which rap-rock band came first?

i wasnt into that stuff until rage against the machine came out and had the organic stuff (only bass, guitar, drums, vocals; no turntables or samples), so im not sure if korn or red hot chili peppers started it first. im guessing it was korn.

As far as im concerned, Rage Against The Machine did the job the best. No turntables, no samples; just real instruments that can only be played after hard work and practice.

Both answers have been said but If you don't know the song you wouldn't know. Ok in my opinion it was Aerosmith and Run-DMC that started it all with Walk this way Around the Same time Anthrax and Public Enemy released Bring the Noise. Both were in the late 80's around the same time and if I remember right aerosmith came out first but don't quote me on that. As far as Rage Against the Machine goes they did perfect it but to me they are more than rap/rock. Cause when I think Rap/rock I think limp bizket=crap.
