I have seen both the movie and the traveling show here in Denver. For me it is not the acting and singing it is the writing. As I watched it all I could think was stop crying and get a real job..

I have seen the play about 10 times. I have seen the movie once and only really loved one scene from it. The movie is OKAY but something about the charaters on the stage makes it special.

I guess I liked it a lot more than many people. I hadn't heard any of the music prior to seeing it as a movie and it's one I will buy

RENT Live was MUCH better. The movie is okay too, but to me, it seemed like the director focused mainly on the gay/lesbian relationships. THe writing for both is still really good though. I dont recomend buying the movie, but im not 'dissin' it.

I really enjoyed the show (I saw it in Toronto). The actors/singers/dancers were great - the theme was very moving. If you're under 40 you will probably like it.

Buy it! I absolutely would reccomend it to anyone. Don't listen to other peoples opinions; except mine, of course. The tunes are on my iPod. Trust me. You'll love it too. Happy New Year! :)

I feel the movie was too dated, they did not update anything in the 10-15 yrs since it was written.
