Well, first of all it depends on how much memory you are going to have on it. If you are getting 2 Gigs of memory or less, silver is the only color option. However, if you are getting a model with more memory, I would go with baby ocean blue! It is just so cute! Silver is a great option too (I happen to have a silver!) because it is very fashionable and matches just about anything. =)

Get the iPod that gives you the most bang for your buck -- as in, the specifics and the options that fit your budget.
I believe someone already hit this, but the larger gig ipods only come in a certain color, so it all depends on the one you're getting.
Get the one that will make you happy. Silver is a very simple color that won't get tiresome after awhile like blue :)
