People like" MEPHIME "(dumbazz) have no common sense to answer a question...I'm referring to Guys like Jim Baker. Is it a power trip thing or what?

He might see his wife as pure and untainted and so when he wants to get raunchy he doesn't want to "dirty" his wife...it doesn't make sense, but some men can't/don't respect women who do some of the things that you can get a mistress or lover to do and since there won't be a commitment he doesn't necessarily need to respect her...sad, but true

The devil made him do it. In the case of Jim Baker, if you were married to Tammy Faye wouldn't you cheat.
A better question might be why do so many priest sexually assault young males?
Is it because we are all human and as such subject to human weaknesses. Even a man of the cloth can sucum to temptation. It doesn't make religion evil, only the man.

Because many of them set very high, impossibly high expectations for themselves, or have such rules put on them by a congregation. Plus people often consider them above suspicion, so they start thinking like bad cops - they are the rules, so they can bend the rules.

Personally, I can't think of a more hypocritical pack of liars. Every day brings more new revelations of more and more clergy, pastors, whatever, diddling everyone from the church secretary to the choir boys.

God damn the entire lot of them to hell for taking advantage of people, for misrepesenting whichever god they claim to speak for, for breaking trusts, for betraying vows, for acting so f*cking smarmy and holy and pure when they are in actuality a s s raping every thing on the planet over the age of 3. Bleccchh.

Well the sin skin made him do it, not the devil. The devil only gives impulses and ideas. Is up to you to decide to sin or not. This days is very common to find pastor and so call leaders cheating. My advise stop going to that church, the pastor is a bad example for his people.

because we are all human and he made an obvious mistake - (hopefully he gets disciplined and has since stopped)
what a terrible example of a pastor -
he is looking like a serious hypocrite

Because it is the ultimate taboo for pastors. To have what they are not supposed to have. Just as some married couples engage in multiple sex partners and bi sexual activities. Its something that you arent supposed to do, so lets do it. Its a mind thing.

No one is perfect, not even ministers. They all make as many mistakes as we do. Provided he has repented, he deserves to be forgiven just as would anyone else. Can anyone honestly say they've never done anything they knew was wrong?

Goes to show even the most righteous are capable of making poor choices. Just hope he's not preaching what he practices.

He is so used to doing the right thing that he snapped and this is what he shose to do. He could have picked up smoking or drinking but sex is always better.

Although cheating is a very selfish act...he's just a mere mortal himself. He should seek counseling and ask for forgiveness from GOD, his wife and his congregation.

That's a mess!!!
