He was a very nice man, but only a so so President. The only real big mistake he made was to pardon Nixon but I forgave him that long ago.

wel he was Vice -President when President Ricard Nixon resigned in August of 74..due to his involvment of the Watergate scandel

He wasn't elected. He was the vice president and he became president when Nixon resigned.

I was a young teen when he became president.the only thing I remember not liking about him is he pardoned Nixon for his involvment in watergate. Ialso remember he could be very clumsy.
