1. Just go up to that person and say something like: "Hi, I like you, and want to know you better. I'd like to go on a date with you, what do you think, is this possible?"
2. Yes, I know that does not seem so easy, but if you prevaricate, you may lose the opportunity. When you are older, you will wish that you had been more confident when you were younger. It's far better to gain that confidence now, than to have regrets later.
3. After all what is the worst thing that can happen, that they say "Sorry, I am seeing someone already"? However, if they turn you down in a nasty way, just walk away with dignity and poise, and certainly don't lose any sleep about it - they were clearly not good enough for you.
