I am in need of an apartment and was going to ask my grandmother to put a apartment in her name for me since i cant get one. i was wondering if it is possible for someone to get two apartments different places in their name, how does this rental thing work????

sure, but the apartment is in his name, and you will not really live there. So if you are locked out or need to call the landlord, then you are out of luck

I don't see why not. It wouldn't be any different than someone who lives in L.A and rents an apartment suddenly needing to rent a place in N.Y. for say six months because of business.

It might take some looking to find an apartment manager that doesn't think it's strange, but I don't see why you couldn't do it.

Maybe someone with landlord experience can tell you something more specific.

As a general rule no. But she can co-sign for you or become a Guarantee, assuring the Management Company that if you don't pay the rent ten she will see that it is paid.

She can have as many apartments in her name as she wants. So long as they are owned by different people/corporations. And even then all you would need is their permission.
