My car rolled backwards through a parking lot (appr. a block) , hit a curb so hard it flipped my car in the air, then went over 2 more embankments, and hit an apartment complex.
I got out of work the next day for that excuse. The sad thing is, it really happened--LOL

My cat was in heat and was running around in a frenzy which caused her to knock the bookcase over which fell on me, fractured my knee and since I have been sitting in the emergency room for 7 hours, I can't come to work today!

I said that I was getting a ride with a friend and she's a horrible driver and ended up going over a curb and hitting a post - so had nowhere to go. They ended up all concerned like are you okay lol.

Yikes, in reading all of your replies, my excuses seem totally uninspired. I'm going to need to work a little harder for next time. But I have four days off starting in an hour!!!!! No excuses needed!

I just shoveled my car out of my driveway and then the plow came down and buried it again. I cant even see it. Im not very good with excuses for work.

I said that I have Mumps... where as what I actually had was an ear infection...and took an off for a week and enjoyed life.

When my supervisor would call to ask me to work, he would always start the conversation with the phrase, "What are you doing?' On one particular evening, he called while I was dealing with a migraine, a six-yr. old stepson, and needless to say was not in the mood to small talk. So, when he asked me what I was doing (knowing where this conversation was going) I replied, "I'm having sex, is that ok with you?" Needless to say, he stopped using that phrase when he called me to come in to work.

pretending I'm sick I intentionatly threw up in my bosses office just so he'd let me have the day off... the bad part though is that he got scared and called the ambulance... ah well at least it was a day off
