Any type of oil stain like vegetable or olive oils...place liquid soap on the oil stain and lightly sprinkly baby powder on it and rub it in, this will lift the stain out, but you need to let the soap and powder sit for a few minutes before throwing it in the wash.

This may sound really mad but if you put talc on the stain and then brush it off with a towel or face cloth and keep doing it will come out it only takes 2 or 3 tries at most. It work because talc soaks up the oil. What ever you do DON'T wash out the talc until you have rubbed it off with a towel else you will get a big goey mess.

I've always used shampoo or laundry detergent rubbed directly into the stain. You might want to rinse the garment and let it drip or lay flat to dry rather than put it in the dryer to make sure the stain is out. If you put it in the dryer and the oil is still there, you might set it into the fabric.

Good luck!

Assuming this is not something that needs dry cleaning, you can try some dish washing liquid such as Dawn and warm water. Use it like a prewash on the spot, then launder normally. I have always had good luck with removing food stains this way.

Iron it with a brown paper bag over the stain or ordinary paper usually works too and the oil will transfer itself on to the paper.

Use dish washing liquid, it'll grab onto the oil and hopefully pull all of it out of the fabric. Then just wash the clothing item as you should usually.

All of those previous answers probably work, but I have never tried that. I have always used shampoo on oil stains. It has worked for me.
