For a PC: go to start, control panel. Double-click on system. At the bottom of all the words on the general tab, it will tell you "-----Mb of RAM." This is how much RAM memory you have.
To check how much hard disk space you have (and this also should work on a mac, with variations), open "my computer" and right click on your hard drive ("C:") and pick properties.
