Well I have a 10 gallon tank that has been set-up for about a month now, and I have about 6 little Zebra Danio's in there. I have been looking at getting a Blue Lobster for some time now, and have been reading up on them and just wanted some more opinion's on them from previous or current owners.
Thanks!

I had Louisiana Crawdads in my 10-gallon tank. Not the same species as your "electric blue crayfish" but probably about the same size and temperament.

1. They're not little guys. Expect a body lenth of five inches, and claws extending forward for more than an inch more.
2. They're omnivores, by which I mean they eat everything.

They will eat your fish if they can catch 'em. If you have more than one crayfish in your tank, they will fight each other. If your tank doesn't have a hidey-hole for each crayfish, then the crayfish will fight each other and kill each other. Even if they do all have hidey-holes, they're vulnerable when they molt, and you'll sometimes lose one that's recently molted.

They will chew up your plants, and eat them. Over time, they will eat all the plants in your tank. I put in plastic plants... they chewed on the plastic plants, but didn't eat them. LOL.

They will eat your water snails -- except for malaysian trumpet snails, whose shells are too tough and who dig in the gravel.

4. I fed mine "shrimp pellets." They'll eat just about any fish food.

in case you upload a blue lobster that's going to kill you tetras. in case you upload a lobster and a frog, the frog will bypass first and the tetras will bypass next. evaluate forgetting about the lobster and sticking with the frog theory. Lobsters are good hunters and characteristic a voracious urge for nutrition. There at the on the spot are not too many fish that are secure to save with them. What fish you may upload for your tank relies upon on the dimensions of your tank. you want to non violent community fish which includes danios, platys, mollies, or some gourami. stay faraway from barbs (they're going to nip at your neons and chase all of them day) and predatorial fish which includes cichlids and knifefish. upon getting known an excellent base of algae you may evaluate including a pleco (be warned they could get large) or a chinese language algae eater. to manage a remark with the help of an beforehand responder, in case you pick to pursue the blue lobster - do not take it out of the tank frequently. Lobsters (crayfish) are liable to disease/fungus/micro organism and can't be dealt with for those diseases. (The drugs spoil the exoskeleton). do not enable that deter you from endeavouring into the international of crustaceans, besides the indisputable fact that. Blue lobsters are splendidly unique. With accepted water adjustments and regularly occurring tank upkeep lobsters are extremely person-friendly to save. in case you supply them nutrition and an section to cover interior the tank lobsters stay truly satisfied. in case you want extra suggestion please post yet another question.

The blue lobster is in actuality a crayfish, they just call it a lobster to make it sound cool and people to buy them. Blue lobsters are actually very rare, they are 1 out of every million lobsters. But anyways, I have 2 blue lobsters. They are easy to take care of at first, when they are young, they will eat anything, this is simply for them to get bigger for more protection. Then they become a little more picky on what they eat and this is the trouble of it all, you must keep a constant temperature at all times. Mine were about 7 inches in length, they fed on fish. And its hard for a lobster to catch quick fish, such as goldfish and such. So what you must do is, create little holes or spaces, where these fish can get in and dwell for a minute or so. Lobsters are intelligent, they will trap their prey and slowly attack the fish, andmake it stress. This stress tightens the muscles in the fishes body when it dies, and this is how they like it, hard meat. The lobsters I had were very funny to watch, they dug holes under rocks, climbed plants, and its a beautiful thing when you see them shed their exoskeleton. But I did something stupid, and put them into a tank with texas cichlids, when they were younger they didn't do anything to the lobsters but as they grew, they killed my lobsters, by biting their claws off and bit their legs off and slowly ate them. It was a sad day for me, but yeh don't put them with aggressive fish and they will do fine. If you want a blue lobster, we have a lot of them here in California. And if you want I will be willing be send one out to you next day delivery for a price, contact me at zare08@yahoo.com if you want.

Well I've had two and the first one was fine and lasted a long time and never grew past 4 inches. The second one escaped going up the filter pipe. By the time I got home from work it was in the middle of the living room and I stepped on it. What I'm saying is there escape artist. Seal off the top tight. And if they can catch them they will eat small fish

If you put a "Blue Lobster" in with those Danios he's going to eat every last one of them. Also, this is the wrong time of year to get a crustecian, look for them in the warmer months. You can also typically request one from your local aquarium store.

Not a good idea for your tank. True blue lobsters are saltwater fish, so I'm guessing you're refering to a blue crayfish. These grow to 8" and are too big for a 10 gallon tank; they also will bother and may eat your fish. They will usually eat anything they can catch, and will eat your fish at night.
