I agree with the other David... It is only the metal of unit expanding at different rates while it is heating up. Most of the time it stops once the heater reaches a steady temp...

If your heaters are sort of banging that means theres air in the line. If theres a relief valve on the heaters some where, open it slightly until water come out. The air should come out first if that's the problem. Do it when the heater is not pumping water for heat.

The noise you hear is probably the sound of the metal in the heater expanding. Most baseboard heaters I've had make noise like this.

You have air in your lines, bleed the lines and the noise will stop
