Yes, it was the first day of our vacation and my husband forgot and set the alarm clock to go off at 4:45 am it went off and he woke me up to complain about it, so I opened our second story bedroom window and dropped the clock out. No more alarm clock violent reactions. The clock is dead!

No I use sleep mode when it goes off. It will stop then come back on in 5-15 minutes. So try that it will let you rest with out falling back to sleep, reflect the day you are about to face before you face it,while you rest. It is really better then smashing your alarm clock.

yes! I have one of the old fashion kind where the metal stick hits the two bells back and forth and one morning it went off and I took my pillow and chunked it at my bed side table and the alarm clock went flying along with the batteries in the back. I haven't used it since.

Not usually, the alarm typically just startles me. But now I wake up about 5 minutes before the radio comes on so it works out well.

I have to keep the alarm clock across the room, otherwise I turn it off without waking up. One fateful day the alarm went off, when I woke up my arm was asleep, so when I tried to hoist myself out of bed, my sleepy arm gave out and I fell out of bed. I fell on sleepy arm quite violently, but got right up and tried to turn off the alarm. Sleepy arm was floppy and wasn't responding correctly. Then I noticed that there was an extra bend in sleepy floppy arm. Then the arm started to wake up, then I had an EXTREMELY painful floppy broken arm.

So....yes. I have.

Yes, on occasion. It's been a while though. These days I tend to shut the alarm clock off in my sleep.....when I sleep at all, that is.

My father has a tendency to wake up swinging.
I am reminded of a tale that was repeated to great laughter at our family gathering on Christmas Day.
Years ago, when I was still living with my parents and my frail grandmother lived with us. She needed help to shuffle from place to place, and my mother was taking her from the living room to the bathroom. My father was asleep on the couch. Some small noise caused him to wake with a start and fling a pillow across the room, striking his own dear little mother. He was mortified, but all was well when she started laughing aloud, knowing as we all did that he has that habit.
She would've been 102 on Christmas Day.
