A fetus is contained in an amniotic sac and is only connected to the mother through the placenta. The rest of the uterus is not effected, and can, in some women, still bleed. In some cases on a monthly basis.
This can be because of hormone fluctuations.

SOME WOMEN CAN AND DO OVULATE DURING PREGNANCY. IT VERY RARE BUT CAN HAPPEN.
