The inside of the chicken should be around 165 degrees and yes that would pop popcorn. However I would NOT try this. I cook everyday a hearty meal and if you popped popcorn in my over I for one would shoot you. I make my own messes and clean my oven often. I would not want the popcorn flavor in my stove or on my chicken. If you really want to know if the chicken is thourly done I would suggest you pruchase a meat theamometer. Cook to 165 degrees and you will be fine. Try using the microwave or a hot air popper to pop the popcorn. \ Good luck cooking.

Cavity means hole so I would imagine it would be one of those ovens that has two separate sections with independent controls/temperatures.

A double oven.--one that has two separate baking chambers. Often one is above the other. If side-by-side, usually one is rather smaller than the other. They have separate temperature controls, so you can bake different foods at different temperatures at the same time.
Here's an example

An oven that has two openings, and presumably the capacity to be set at two different temperatures.
