Seems steep prices for lost or stolen cards and name changes when we have so many identies stolen and used by multiple people when there doesn't seem to be a sufficent penalty for stealing them. We may not have these fees but it seems what happens there eventually happens here.

My guess is that they will evolve to the point to where they will an internal passport to restrict movement. Much like Stalin had in the Soviet Union. Not to mention the dollars it will take to implement it. And the fact that the government can track you.

Why are poeple so upset about a national ID, its not much mroe than your ID now, ding dongs. Also how many of you that are crying about the ID have, cell phones, credit cards, departments store discount cards? All of those things track what you do as well. Tards.

I am not going to get a national id. Another way to invade our privacy.
