What I love about being a girl is that we don't have as many double standards as men do. If girls cross their legs, they are ladies. If men cross their legs, they are gay. That is how society views that position. We are all raised to follow certain "gender roles." However, we should not always take these to heart. Women are just as good as men and vice versa. Therefore, there is nothing wrong with girls loving video games. I am a gamer myself. I LOVE video games, both girly ones and boyish ones. One of my favorite video games to play is Need for Speed. I also love Burnout, the Suffering, Def Jam: Fight for NY, etc. I also love Sims2, Final Fantasy X-2, Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2, etc. There is nothing wrong with female gamers, so PLAY ON! ^_^

Actually, I'm sorry but no. According to the Supreme court decision in the case of Taylor v. Robbins (Sept 2004) it was found to be unconstitutional for a girl to enjoy playing a video game. Their reasoning was that according to the Scientific Journal of Entertainment Therapy, girls are more emotional and "people-oriented". It was decided that playing video games negatively impacted society, because girls were spending more time in solitary and less time developing the social skills that help to build a strong culture. Failure to build these social skills meant breakdowns in communication, delegation of personal responsibility, and an utterance of stereotypical jargon found prevalent in several of the tribes of the Eastern African regions. Due to these findings, the judge determined that playing a video game would bring more harm to a girl in the long run, culminating with the collapse of western society in the very near fututre. He decreed that girls can not love playing video games.

Of course! I've been playing them since I was three years old! (that's 16 years!). I love them, especially RPG's like Kingdom Hearts adn Final Fantasy 7 and action, adventures and shooters like Hitman and God of War. It's not as common to see girl gamers, (I think its 1/3 of all gamers are girls according to a recent poll). Nothing wrong at all, its the same as girls enjoying sports as much as men, video games shoudn't be sterotyped to think they're only for girls. I guess girls and guys game a little differently in a sense, most guys prefer shooters, blood and gore and I love games with emotional stories and strong characters. (I cry during games a lot, like in KMH2 when you first see Riku ^^)
The article the above man posted, I couldn't find it...so I don't think its true, it wasn't in Yahoo or on wilkipedia.

Well, you didn't really describe yourself, but I'm a girl and I like to play video games--video games aren't exclusive to the male population only. There are a lot of female gamers out there. Hope this helps.

It's generally believed that girls are supposed to like dolls and make-up. That, however, is a stereotype. Guys are supposed to be beerbellies and like video games. Girls like you may be ridiculed for liking video games, but loads of girls enjoy video games. Don't be self-consious about that.

Omg: i am addicted to video games!. Just because girls are sopposed to be girly why cant they do things like boys? This question should not asked everyone knows that girls are like soooo better then boys. They can do anything!

YES! I personally love video games, but that doesnt make me a tomboy at all. I am still a girly girl, i just enjoy playing video games. I dont care wat other people think. I don't care if they make fun of me for liking to play video games. You shouldn't care either. If you really enjoy video games, go for it. Dont give up something u love.

yes u can cuzz i love to play video games there's no problem but im not a girly girl im kinda of like a tomboy and i love being myself around people and if they don't like like me being a tomboy well that's them
