The prototype was made in Japan and I am guessing that all the copies of the fully working prototype was made in China because of cheap labor. Maybe factories in Mexico made some of the consoles too.

I think Japan or China..... somewhere along there....but if you want to find out more about where it was made and other formalities of it, go to nintendo.com. That is the official website for any Nintendo game console. Good luck.
