At the top of your answer put the most left on the political spectrum and the most right at the bottom, or vica versa. Just put R or L on the top to avoid confusion. I am putting them in no particular order.

Ford
Clinton
JFK
Reagan
FDR
Washington
Lincoln
Bush (43)
Nixon

10 Points to the person who's ranking comes closest to the reality of the American political spectrum.

I picked Presidents that fill a wide spectrum of political ideals. The 9 chosen were not on a whim, and some of you need to actually put them in order, and not just in a jumble with L's and R's next to names. Three of them are considered to be the most centric by Presidential historians, and two are the furthest to the left and right.

Why's everybody putting Clinton so far left??? Obviously, compared to Bush he's pretty far left, but he didn't bring about any huge changes like FDR, Washington or Lincoln.

You should include an M for those that were Moderate because Lincoln, Washington, and Ford were more of a moderate than either Left or Right.

I think Clinton was the most extreme Left with both his social and political policies. FDR was right behind him as a Leftist with his BIG government programs and policies he instituted, although he believed in a strong national defense. JFK was more of a moderate Left as he also catered to BIG business and corporations. Lincoln was a Republican but was very liberal for his days with his policies against slavery. Ford was a moderate as he dealt with the Nixon pardon and the end of the Vietnam War. Washington is too hard to classify although I would put him more as a Right. Nixon and Bush were very Right while Reagan is in my opinion the most conservative of ALL presidents in US history. He was truly a GREAT man!

This is not a valid list since Dictator Dumbya, so-called "Bush(43)", does not have a legal presidency.
