My mother was suddenly afflicted by acid reflux 4 days ago. Now, she gets it every night before sleeping. That's why I'm looking for some natural cures. If you people know of any, could you share some? Thanks for your time. God bless.

Death to acid reflux. May it die and go to Hell.

Chronic heartburn is usually from acid reflux - stomach acid is getting past the little valve and into your esophagus. You also should know some natural ways to treat your heartburn. Learn them here

The most immediate thing you can do is to stop drinking coffee and cola. Smoking is not good either, but that might be harder to stop. Don't over-eat. Don't lie down too soon after eating. Don't burp too much - this carries acid up with the burp.

I don't know if this will work for her but I knwo of several people having tried 1 teaspoon of pure white vineager followed by a glass of water about 20 minutes later. She needs to put a little bit of a "Kick" into the enzymes to loosen up the acids and getting it moving out------------

Papaya extract- from most any store that sells supplements- it's all natural, tastes nice and helps a LOT. It is water soluble so you can't over do it. Ginger Ale, baking soda & water is also good-
If you can get her to a doctor- I recommend Nexium. Mine got so bad I couldn't swallow- Nexium saved my life. Also, try sleeping propped up- the lower she lays, the worse it gets. Good luck. God bless you both.

Check out the book by Kevin Trudeau called "Natural Cures". He said to take couple of spoons of Apple Cidar Vinegar. But check out the book and see exactly what he said. It's a pretty good book.
