You are getting, what we in the homebirthing groups, call Prenatal sCare.
The reason you are measuring small is because your baby has dropped, but your OB wants to put the fear of god in you so that a) you will be a compliant patient b) you will respect them c) you will pay your bill on time and c ) you won't realize that you don't need them in a normal birth.
You may be going into labour soon, or it may be awhile yet. There is no way to tell.

dont be alarmed! i have had a similar experience - my midwife was measuring me 2 weeks ahead - since my due date is 12/31 i started thinking this baby (baby no 3 for me) was going to be HUGE - come to find out you can measure 2 weeks ahead or 2 weeks behind safely - it tells the drs if you should be focusing more on what you are eating (if you need to gain or loose) but it doesn't have as much of an inpact on the baby's size - the baby's size is only measured in the ultrasounds... my doc today made sure to explain this to me and i'm feeling 10X better!!
your mucus plug isn't too alarming... your baby can still decide to stick around for another few weeks - my first two were both 10 days early and healthy as ever.. relax and enjoy your few last days of sleep!!! :) good luck!

The process is beginning :-)
With my daughter she dropped when I was 35 weeks pregnant and I had her at 39 weeks. My plug didn't go until my labor started.
The week before I went into labor the braxton hicks were stronger and more frequent and the baby was a lot more quiet.

i'm 34 weeks pregnant and as quickly as I stretch too a long thank you to a minimum of one area or pass a fashion that my physique isn't use to on an identical time as being pregnant i'm getting this discomfort besides. it somewhat is in basic terms a muscle. My healthcare expert tells me that it is the ligaments being stretched. i do no longer think of that that's something to stress approximately. If it would not bypass away then call your healthcare expert next time.

Won't be long now!! Congratulations!!!!! I went 41 weeks. My son was sooo low that she said she could feel his head during the exam to see if I was dialating. I started labor induction at 4cm.

Yup, she is on her way. Don't sweat it though, a baby born after 36 weeks is considered full term. Congrats!
