On Christmas day out of the blue I got an email from a friend of 10 years. She curses me out and says she has no time for me in her life anymore. So what would you do fight for the friendship or chalk it up to a lost cause. ???

Ask your friend what is wrong, if you do not get an answer, consider it her problem and move on.

With ten years invested in the relationship, you at least deserve a phone call if an in person visit is not possible, and better explanation as to what brought on the tirade in her e-mail.

It is not uncommon that over a period of ten years that people grow apart as their lives go in separate directions, but it is usually a gradual thing that happens over time. To receive an e-mail out of the blue saying this, it almost sounds like she is hurt for a perceived wrong and the friend is striking back by saying they have no time for you and want to end the relationship to soothe their wounded ego.
