I don't know if it's a surprise to most people if you're 300 pounds and single.

Australia would be nice. It's warmer there around this time of year.

I'm not sure why you would want to go somewhere hot in January. You could probably get a good cheap flight somewhere with easyjet.com, or flyglobespan.com, or another airline that might leave your local airport. Then book into a hostel somewhere, or take a tent and a bike.

I found that Glasgow to Lanzarote could manage 2 weeks with flyglobespan.com for £130 return leaving 31 December and returning 14 January. Then in a tent and a bike for two weeks, you are left with £170; about £12 a day spending money.

It is possible if you avoid campsites which charge anything more than a nominal fee. If the weather is really good take a bivvy bag and a sleeping bag instead of a tent, and sleep on the beach.

The cheapest place I found for living in luxury was Fiji. However, getting there might remove your whole budget. The accomodation will take up most of your expense. So reduce that and you should be laughing!

Have fun!

Canary Islands are lovely this time of year, try the website I've added we've been booking with this company for over 5 years.
I used to live in Lanzarote.
You'll get a great deal with it being last minute!
Good luck and happy holidays.

Tenerife is do-able on that budget. www.Lastminute.com or Teletext for late deals. Also Fly Globespan, dead cheap usually, and book accomodation seperate on-line for cheapness. Look at www.moneysupermarket.com and compare prices. They compare travel insurance, flights, hotels, the works. Weatherunderground for the best climate but the Canaries are at 20c today or there abouts. Look at www.tripadvisor.com to get other peoples opinions on hotels you are looking at.

Florida :-) Florida :-) Florida :-)

Don't go to prime touristy areas - it will be more expensive. Go as far south as you can, but not to well-known areas (not Miami, Tampa, Orlando, St. Augustine or Daytona.) There are a lot more beaches than those well-known places.

Maybe Vero Beach, Melbourne, or that area.
