The fuse that runs the alarm most likely runs other things too (possibly dash lights).
Take it to a mechanic and see if they can fix the connection so the alarm will quit sounding. Or have them clip the wire to the alarm--whatever is cheaper.

Yes you can take it out. Look under the dash from the steering wheel to the driver door, the fuse block is located there and there is a little box that is plugged in next to it.

There is a button like switch in each door jamb that senses when the door is ajar. Find it and either adjust it, or replace it and the problem will be solved. A quick fix is to tape it down with some good old duct tape.

make sure that the key is as pushed in as possible. Then, if that dosent work, there is usually a mechanizim in the door that makes it beep when its not being pushed. Look for that, then tape it pushed down, or insert something like a quarter over it. (depending on the door)

Take it to the VW dealer and tell them to fix THEIR car.
A good car manufacturer will not want you being unhappy. And they sure won't want you asking every Tom, Dick and Mary around the country about it.
Oh, print this and take it with you.

Pull the battery off the car. That'll stop it until you have time to figure out what's going wrong, and at a better time for your neighbors.
