I got a laptop for Christmas and bought the Sims 2 Holiday Edition game, but it runs extremely slow. The screen even freezes up when I play the game. My laptop came with 18.6 GB and now has around 12. So I was wondering if a flash drive would help games run faster.

no, a flash drive wont help a bit. you should look into upgrading your RAM. Also, a new Hard Drive wouldnt hurt.

No, a flash drive would have nothing to do with making your laptop faster. A flash drive is just a portable drive used for storing data. It could be that your laptop does not meet the system requirements for the Sims 2.

Ok so first thing do a clean install of windows, you can have all the software in the world like antivirus and cleansweepers but they dont do you any good once you have a problem. Install windows clean and just put the antivirus back, windows does a good job on its own these days at the defrag thing. As for the flash drive, you wont get the full 16gb out of it if you only have windows 32bit you need 64bit to address more than 4gb of memory at any one time. also did you check if the drive was readyboost certified, its something microsoft let manufacturers put on their devices to say theyre fast enough. My guess is that you need to do a clean install and av only on your machine to start then put your games on...and use the usb if you want for a bit of extra help. Adding things to an already broken installation wont really help anything...
