I would say wait a few day. It sounds like your period is on it's way.

There are a few "hints" to taking a pregnancy test:

-- Purchase a brand-name test. The generic tests and dollar-store brands do not necessarily detect the hormone at the lower levels like First Response or Answer Early. The digital tests are notorious for detecting at much higher levels and could give a negative result when in fact you are pregnant... so a different brand may bring a different result.

-- Take the test first thing in the morning, when you just get up. First-morning urine has the highest concentration of the pregnancy hormone (if it is present) and will therefore yield the most accurate result.

-- If the test still comes out negative, your next step is the doctor's office. A blood test will definitively tell if you are pregnant or not. There are other reasons for missing your period and all of them would definitely require a visit to the doc...

I hope this helps...Good luck to you!

Bloating & cramping are definately signs of PMS -- especially if you are late.

Most HPTs are accurate but the one my doctor recommends is EPT.

Also... when taking the HPT, make sure to use it first thing in the morning - it is said that the hormone level is the highest when you take your first pee in the morning.

Pulling out as I'm sure you know is not a safe method and you may have gotten pregnant that way. While the chances are not as great as "leaving it in" there is always a possibility.

Best advice: Purchase an EPT test and take it first thing in the morning.

Good luck.

You need to go to the doctor and get a blood test. My sister was pregnant with my neice and I kept telling her she was pregnant but she was still having her period at first and when she took a home pregnancy test it said no but when she went in for her yearly check up and they ran blood it came back she was pregnant. And when she tried to take a home pregnancy test it still said no and she had a little girl so go to the doctor to make sure the last thing you wanna do is have a baby and not know and the baby have malnutrition or anything like that. Plus it's your health and if your used to coming on time then something is wrong! Goood Luck!

Wait a few days and retest. I tested on a Monday when I was supposed to start the Thurday before and it was negative. When I tested the following Friday, it was positive. I am now 6mos pregnant. HPT's can sometimes tell you that you aren't when you are but rarely tell you that you are when you aren't. I know its a pain but you have to wait it out.
