I need to replace a light bulb in a flush mount light fixture. But I see no center bolt on the light fixture so I dont know how to take the shade off and replace the light bulb.

Can anyone tell me how to replace a bulb on a flush mount light fixture that has no center bolt on it??

Tried to pull it down, no luck again. It might be kind of twist and lock.

I installed a bunch that look like that recently. Actually had pins on the shade that engaged when spun clock wise.

I finally got enough courage to attempt this. I found that pushing up and turning the globe was the trick, I was able to change the bulb. Now my new problem is I half was screwed it back on so it is crooked and stuck. At least I have light.

The ring or square that holds the light up should be spring loaded. You should be able to pull down on it to open it up. This will give you a few inches of space so that you can get your hand in there.

I think you actually mean surface mount. Generally the bowl either has a thumb screw on the side of the base, or it will twist off.

I too have ran into this same situation. Some of them you just lift up at the lens area and tilt it out of place. Normally you will need to tinker with it until you find the solution.

Good luck
