There's creams on the market you can get at the pharmacy such as vagisil. It's usually for yeast infections, but it's designed to soothe irritated tissue and stop the itching. There's also a douche with medication in it (idoine). You also need to address the underlying cause and don't have intercourse w/o being fully aroused. Inexperienced partners sometimes cause harm. If you don't want to check with your gyn (and you probably call the nurse and get her opinion) ask your pharmacy to recommend a product that could help. Baby creme may also help, but I'm not sure about whether it can be used internally--ask the pharmacist!

Get K-Y jelly, put the tube in the fridge for an hour, insert the jelly into the vaginal opening, this will soothe and lubricate the tissues. Next time, use the jelly before intercourse and avoid the problem.

Cotton underwear and warm baths may help it a bit. I imagine you know that next time some personal lubricant will prevent this uncomfortable side effect.

Take an ibuprofin and slather on some aloe vera gel. This works for me.
