I hate birth control, especially since I am nursing a baby. I had my first period after a long and wonderful 20 months! I was sooooo sick of using condoms, that we said screw it and went without for once. Since I sent so long without a period, that must lessen my chances of getting pregnant again, right? Or is it the opposite? Or does that have nothing to do with it? A girl can hope, right? I really don't want another baby, I just HATE both condoms and birth control! What do you think my chances are?

My cycle usually lasts for about 3 days or less. I joke about wanting another baby a lot just to tease my husband who doesn't wany any more kids. If I get pregnant, we wouldn't mind. I just wonder if it would look like I purposely tried to have another baby!

How long you went without a period has nothing to do with your fertility now. Periods are the result of ovulation. Not the other way around.

I got pregnant from sex I had the last two days of my period.

You can get pregnant anytime.

I'd say 5 days after is just as fair a time as any. Sperm can live up to 5 days in your system, usually less... but longer isnt unheard of. And if you ovulate between the day you had sex, and before the last of the sperm die off you can totally get pregnant.

But, all things aside. Its probably unlikely that this one occasion will result in a pregnancy. Although you cant get a promise of such a thing.

I hate condoms and birth control too. And now, iam pregnant.

Amazing how that works.

Try and IUD.

I'd say there is definitely a good chance you are pregnant, because most women ovulate about 14 days after the first day of their last period, and it sounds like you had sex pretty close to that time. If you don't want to take a birth control pill, you should check out the Nuva Ring, or get an IUD put in by your doctor. IUDs last 5 years and there are some with no hormones, and some with very low dose hormones. They are also very reliable.

You left out how long your cycle lasts, but I'll go 5 days so yes you're pushing it if you really don't want to be pregnant. Most women ovulate 14 days after the first day of the LMP and sperm can live in your body up to 5 days.

You should talk with your doctor about BC options. There are others that are safe for nursing women other then condoms.

It is the nursing of your baby that kept your body from ovulating. Now that you are ovulating, your cycle will return to normal and you can easily get pregnant again.

You can get pregnant 5 days after finishing your period. I got pregnant with my daughter 2 days after my period had ended, so I am sure that at 5 days you have a higher chance of it.

If you are not ready for another child yet, stick with the condoms or find another method of birth control.

I would say your chance of being pregnant are very high. We all hate condoms and BC but it's part of life if you don't want another baby. Good luck
