Of all the Webtv questions I’ve answered – this has got to be the strangest.
Just so you’re aware – webtv email can be retrieved with Outlook, Outlook Express, and Hotmail from any computer. Webtv favorites (bookmarks) can be retrieved with computers from the website “Windows Live Favorites”,
You will need a Composite or S-video to USB adaptor for connecting webtv and a laptop. A simple internet search of “USB video capture” provided the link below.
The device / cable is typically used for connecting VCR’s to computers for transferring VHS tapes to DVD.

Those old Web TV boxes hooked to a TV set. That was the whole idea -- and pretty much why they died off.

No, you can't hook it to a laptop. It connects to a TV and that's all it does.
