I have a Radeon 9800 xt. Is it my video card? It drives me insane. The only time it blinks is if I'm playing a video game like WoW or something. Anyway to make it stop?

My monitor is some expensive Sony. It stays at 60 hz.

I've had the video card a year and its done it since I got it. (Kinda used to it...but still annoying.) I think I may have gotten a bad card to begin with.

I had the same problem with my flight simulators( fs 2004, cfs 3, and cfs) I installed an NVIDIA 6600 card. I have 1.2 gigs ram, and an amd 3000 processor. Since i did that, only once in a while does the screen flicker and that is when the going is really hot and heavy. I have two 80 gig harddrives and if you have a computer geek for a friend you can partition off a little bit of your slave drive to act as even more RAM. I am now looking at a dual core processor. I believe that will complete the package and then i can play the games without flicker.

Have you tried updating device drivers? Is the monitor cable loose? Try fiddling with the video settings in the game? Set your monitor to a lower refresh rate (60hz).
