some contraceptive pills can do that ,depending on the progesteronee content , also there are progesteron derived shots. but before you do anything consult a doctor since taking those medications can have serious side effects and need to be controlled. also you might seek more professional information by searching at the health Information Center http://google.com/coop/cse?cx=007185308018807068018%3Ax2z07lqx3mg which is a search site specialized in health information.

Birth control pills are excellent at controlling the length of your period. There is a way to get less periods by taking your pills nonstop (no inactives or blanks, just start in your next box after week 3 and go through 4 boxes for 12 weeks, then week 13, use a row of inactives (7 days worth) and start another set of 12 weeks again). You can do this with any pill. Let your doctor know you want to do this and they will give you a prescription for a 13 week supply. You can take Seasonale or Seasonique, but you don't have to.
I don't have any experience with shots, but I have heard that they have some undesirable side effects. I have done OK on the pill, so I stick to it.
Good luck! Ask your doctor what pill is right for you, he or she will recommend one with the correct dosage of hormones.

I take a progesterone only contraceptive pill (micronor) where you never leave a gap between packs. Because of this I have had just 1 bleed in the last 2 years, this is perfectly normal and healthy.
I cannot take a combined pill so was suggested that this one be given a try, As far as I am concerned its absolutely brilliant, although there are strict restrictions about the time of day you take this one, must be within 2 hours of the same time every day.

Prostap is a monthly injection given to women with endometriosis and / or fibroids to ease bleeding, but side effects so not to be taken lightly.
You could try the contraceptive pill. You don't have to have a break between packs as the bleed isn't a proper period, just a break-through bleed. you don't get the periods 'cause ovulation is stopped. So you break the natural cycle of hormones and the development of thick womb lining that these hormones cause.

Visit a Family Planning Clinic. They don't always need you to have an appointment. You can ask about the injection. Its given every 3 months and your periods usually stop altogether. Only disadvantage is that if you want to get pregnant, you a) have to wait until your 3 months are up, and b) its often a few more months until you are fertile.

The contraceptive pills won't stop it but because you stop taking them for one week a month then you know exactly when your period will arrive.
The depo injection usually stops them altogether, although some women experience occasional bleeding many stop completely
You should talk to your nurse or doctor for the best advice

Yes! if you are on the combined pill you can just take two packs back to back without a break. Ask your Doctor if you need reassurance or are not on the pill.He or she will not be shocked or suprised - I work as a practice nurse and its a very common request.

I took them, the doc gave them to me,because i was going for a holiday. and from that time, the period became irregular and start bleeding between periods. It took me 2 years to get it settled again. I suggest that you don't take them for stupid reasons.
