No. Nothing justifies assumptions. But people are going to do it anyway, no matter what the topic is. So I suppose it's expected.

Yes. Assuming there is little else for one to base an opinion on besides the repetitive actions of someone or something. You can only learn from shared knowledge and experience.

sometimes I think that. Ya know, if it happened before, it will happen again, some things/people never change etc etc. But then i remember all the times i have been wrong and really screwed myself over... assumptions are the mother of all f*ckups.

Yes, in most cases you can form somewhat accurate assumptions based on patterns. Except in legal proceedings.
