It`s a custodial sentence even for a first offence unless it gets dropped to a lesser charge as is aggravated burglary with any sort of weapon .the sentence for that is between 18 months and 10 years

If they commit the crime in the Wyrley Birch area of Birmingham they will have at least a good half hour to escape.
I had a P.O there had 3 armed robberies and 2 serious assaults in 9 months, on one occasion a solitary officer wearing Lycra shorts turned up after 20 mins to attend an armed robbery, another occasion the W.P.C apologised for the delay of 35 mins response time her excuse she was not qualified enough to work the Blue & Two's so they had to wait at trafic lights the robber after stealing £68,000 even had time to wait at the bus stop and get on the bus.
Another assault and robbery by a well known police informer he was arrested and let out the next day without charge although there were 8 witnessess.
Unfortunatly the P.O is now closed as I fell into ill health after being terrorised not only from the criminal fraternity but also by the local police
There is no other p.o in that area now so if you get cought you should expect about 3 years

Gordon Bennett! Armed Robbery!!! Probation!!!???
I'd give you six months for the use of the non-word "worser".
The victim of an armed robbery will be on probation for the rest of his life - double locking doors, frightened of every unexplained noise, wary of strangers etc.
And you feel that a sentence of probation is bad? Three to five years imprisonment, probably with at least 2 years in a category A prison.
The lot on him, and his supporters. Disgusting...

It depends on where you live. In Florida, if you commit a crime with a gun, ANY crime, regardless of whether or not you fired it, or even if it was not loaded, it is an automatic TEN YEARS. 20 years if you fire it. Life if you injure or kill someone. First offense? Still 10-20-Life. Do not go pass Go. Do not collect $200.
It has been a reasonably successful law so far, too, so expect a lot of states to adopt it. Florida has seen a 34% drop in violent crimes since the law went into effect.

why would they get probation, however if they get some loopy judge who thinks he should make a stand then it might be probation or a telling off and money to go abroad to get "mended" but hopefully in a real world environment... jail for a long time

In Blair's Britain? Probably a free holiday in the Bahamas to make up for the robber's horrible childhood.

There are no mitigating circumstances appertaining to crimes of armed robbery. They are toally pre-meditated and accompanied by the intent to assault to obtain a pecuniary advantage. Sentence will indeed and very deservedly be custodial

I think "worser" says it all, better have about a five year supply of soap on a rope.
