Try this and make sure you quote me.
We are at a crossroads in America. We have been a free enterprise society for many years. In the last 60 years, we have leaned more and more to a socialist form of government. It started with FDR and the New Deal. It was a short term solution that never went away. Gradually, we started to add more and more to the government must provide us list. First it was retirement (Social Security) then we added welfare and then Medicare/Medicaid. Now the debate is on whether all Americans have a right to heathcare.
Then bring up how the reason why healthcare is so expensive is lawyers like John Edwards sue and make millions off of lawsuits. Also mention that the lack of personal responsibility and always having to find someone to blame is bankrupting the small business man.

Don't think paper, think blog. Find some place like blogspot [there are lots of them, including Yahoo] and start a page and start typing away. You can get the word out right then and there instead of waiting for something to come back from the printers, and you can literally reach the whole world.

Start first with a basic premise and belief that you feel strongly about.
Your first paragraph should be a specific statement about your position.
Your following paragraphs (the body of your paper) should outline specific arguments that support your case. Be specific with your details and how it relates to your position.
In some cases, teachers will have you contrast and compare your position with an oposing point of view and share why you disagree. This should flow following your position paragraphs.
The closing paragraph should summarize and restate your position and beliefs.
