If you have a sewing machine, they do sell needles especially for denim, otherwise, take them to the dry cleaners. They will repair them for cheap.

You probably will not be able to get through all those layers of denim with a sewing machine. Even if the machine can handle it, the needle won't.
Try sewing them back on by hand. You can get extra heavy thread at any fabric store. It is made for buttons.
This is a tough area to sew. Make sure you don't poke the back of the needle through your finger when you are trying to push it through.

If they are Levi's jeans, contact the manufacturer, and tell them what has happened. They will warranty his jeans, and send him another pair, iof the stitching has come undone. I have replaced about 10 pairs of jeans over the last 20 years.

maybe take your jeans back to hollister and exchange them as 'faulty' for a smaller size so you wouldn't have to keep pulling them up?! x
